Past Robots
2009 - Thunder Cat
FIRST Lunacy was the 2009 game for the FIRST Robotics Competition. The game consisted of three teams on two alliances on a "lunar surface" to simulate the low gravity on the moon. In the game, teams attempted to score "moonrocks" or "supercells" into the opposing team's trailers.
2008 - Phalange Bowser
FIRST Overdrive was the 2008 game for the FIRST Robotics Competition. In it, teams competed to complete counterclockwise laps around a central barrier while manipulating large 40 in diameter "Trackballs" over and under overpasses to score additional points.2007 - Lifter Bot
Rack 'n Roll was the game for the 2007 FIRST Robotics Competition. Each match of Rack 'n Roll was 2 minutes 15 seconds long, divided into three segments. The first segment was a 15 second autonomous period, where robots may attempt to place keepers onto the rack without human input. The second segment was a teleoperated period where teams scored game pieces and they received a bonus for lifting a robot off the ground.2006 - Shooter Bot
Aim High was the 2006 game for the FIRST Robotics Competition. Aim High was played by two alliances, red and blue, each consisting of three robots. During a 10 second autonomous mode, robots will be programmed to score into any of the three goals: one raised center goal marked by a green vision target and two corner goals at floor level. At the end of the autonomous period, the alliance with the most points will gain a 10 point bonus and was be placed on defense for round two. Rounds two, three, and four, which were each 40 seconds long, were human-controlled rounds. Between rounds two and three, the alliances would switch from offense to defense, or from defense to offense. At the start of round 4, any alliance can score into their corresponding goals. At the end of the match, an alliance can receive bonus points by placing its three robots on a platform below the center goal. 2005 - Tetra Bot
Triple Play was the name of the 2005 season FIRST robotics challenge. Tetras could be placed on top off or below the tetras and the teams could receive a bonus for rows of three and if all three alliance robots were behind the alliance line at their end of the field at the end of the game.2004 - Omni Bot
FIRST Frenzy: Raising the Bar was the 2004 game for the FIRST Robotics Competition. The game included mobile goals, large inflatable balls, and smaller balls. In Raising the Bar, teams could score by having their human player score purple balls in any of the goals, capping the goals with a multiplier ball, or hanging their robot suspended from the 10-foot high 'chin up bar'. 2003 - Stacker Bot
Stack Attack was the game for the 2003 FIRST Robotics competition. In Stack Attack, two teams of two robots each attempt to win by moving large bins into their zone and arranging them into stacks. At the beginning of the match, each team is given 4 bins as well as a large stack of 29 bins in the center of the elevated playing field.2002 - Tank Bot
Zone Zeal was the 2002 game for the FIRST Robotics Competition. In it, robots playing in alliances of 2 competed to move goals and balls into various zones within the carpeted playing field. The playing field was divided into zones, and had three mobile goals, forty balls, and five zones used for scoring.2001 - The Original
Diabolical Dynamics was the 2001 FIRST robotics challenge had four teams competing against each other. The playing field was a carpeted area divided by a pivoting bridge in the center of the field. The game pieces included forty small balls, eight large balls, and two movable goals.
